SLOT CARS
A few years back, myself and both my sons Andrew & Cody raced
in a regional USSC race at Scale Model supply in St. Paul, MN. We
all ran in the amateurs class with Group 10 type NASCAR slots. I placed
second and Andrew was fourth, I don't remember what Cody placed, but it
was his first race and did well for a 12 year old. We plan to do more races in the future as time allows.
I have also found tons of really cool slot car stuff to purchase
on Ebay. I have bought two old Eldon 1/24 scale tracks
which make a really cool layout at home for racing both 1/32 & 1/24
scale slot cars. I have also bought many old Strombecker, Cox &
Eldon cars to race here at home. If you have never checked out
Ebay, click the banner below and sign up for an account, you will be amazed
at all the neat stuff for sale on Ebay.
So until then, here are some Slot Car Racing links that you might enjoy and few pics of our tracks.
Here is a pic of the 1/32 scale Mini Morris slots on our Scalextrix home track. A few too many roll overs have scuffed the paint on the red car!!
This is our old 1/32 Scalextric layout before we got more track, note the banked corner and straight on
the right!
This is our new 1/32 Carrera track, note the two banked corners! This is a fast track, best lap in either lane is 4.5 seconds with stock Scalextric Mustang.
This is an old 1/43 Carrera track layout before we got more track, the old carrea cars suck, Artins work a little better.
